12 Days of Christmas – Rachel Arbuckle

A long-running series of twelve 250pc jigsaws issued annually each Christmas season from 2016 onwards, which concludes in 2027. Rachel was a popular Celtic-inspired artist for Wentworth before the series started. Her other work will appear elsewhere in Jigasaurus, apart from the notable 500pc Twelve Days of Christmas title, which featured a whimsy for every gifted item in the traditional song, ‘On the First Day of Christmas, my True Love Gave to Me’.

Although the series is notable for its Celtic knot-work patterns, jolly figures and bright colours, its most interesting feature is the large decorative dropout hidden in the centre of the rectangular jigsaw. The series crosses the packaging redesigns from cream to grey box eras, and the change from 3mm to 4mm board.

In later years, where the image and whimsy content allows, the cuts have started to include aspects of the new Wentworth cutting styles which fit well with the artwork style – spirals, curls and fancy connectors.
