Up To The Minute
A sequel series of puzzles in the Waddington's Giant format but packed in black boxes 8½" x 7½" and 2" thick with a clock logo. Earlier ones were inscribed "Up to the Minute Giant" Jig-Saw which was later shortened to "Giant". Price was initially "1/6 including purchase tax" introduced in October 1940 to curb consumption of "luxury goods" but increased due increases in raw material costs and tax rate changes during WW2.
Puzzle numbers start at 79 with the highest known being no. 112 but there is a gap between 86 and 100 and is it is not known if this is due to a break in number sequence at Waddington's or if puzzles with these missing numbers are still to be discovered. No photos or info on no. 105 "Queen Elizabeth I at Tilbury, 1588" is currently available.
