407. The Boarding of the Altmark

Allied sailors whose vessels were sunk by the Graf Spee and other German warships in late 1939 were imprisoned on the "Altmark". After the Battle of the River Plate the Altmark escaped to North Norway. In February 1940 it was boarded by HMS Cossack and the prisoners were released and repatriated.
