French Market Square, A

Excellent Super-Cut puzzle from this wonderfully suited print of a painting by the Alsatian artist, Hansi, pseudonym of Jean Jacques Waltz(1873-1951). The painting, which is actually entitled Retour de pèlerinage, or Return of the Pilgrimage was used as a promotional poster for the Alsace-Lorraine railway and shows the Market Square in Rosheim, a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Alsace in north-eastern France. Since adding this puzzle, I have been advised that Hansi has included himself in his work, dressed in black, seated and painting on the steps of the well and also that this scene remains very much the same today. Thanks Jacques.
Featuring extensive colour line-cutting throughout, as well as including 49 whimsies or figural shapes, this type of image lends itself superbly to this style of puzzle.
