Waiting for the Mailcoach

Super quality plywood jigsaw puzzle, one of the earlier produced by Vera, estimated to be of c1920s manufacture. The cutting style is combined semi-interlocking and push fit with a multitude of different profiles. It also features excellent quality colour line-cutting throughout and three very detailed figural shaped pieces.
This example was manufactured for retail in the London Bookshop of Truslove and Hanson at their outlet at 14a Clifford Street, Mayfair. This shop became a subsidiary of W.H. Smith in 1923 and has since gone on to become home to luxury Italian fashion company Kiton's London store.
