012. Speed Craft

Rare puzzle from the Salmon Series, which uses a simple, but effective painting by the British artist Roland Davies (1904-1993). The puzzle is entitled Speed Craft on the box although the puzzle itself expands on this, giving a fuller title of Schneider Trophy Winner. This aircraft, no S1598, won the trophy in 1931.
I understand this to have been one of six postcard paintings commissioned by J. Salmon in the 1930's.
