Mireille

Superbly colour line-cut plywood jigsaw, which I found in 1997 in a Parisian Street market, successfully beating down the price in my very poor French to a mutually agreeable price.
Comparing the relatively crudely cut figural pieces with other similarly sourced examples, and with expert advice from the US, I believe that this puzzle was produced for the French market, although whether they were actually manufactured there, or in the United States, is uncertain.
Thanks to Anne Williams for her expertise and to Jacques Vélu for helping to identify the artist as Léonie Dusseuil(French 1843-1912)
