Cutty Sark

300 piece, fully interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle featuring a painting of the British tea clipper Cutty Sark, by the artist Arthur Chidley (1876-1941).

The puzzle includes 10 figural shaped pieces and came housed in a sturdy box with lift-off lid and smaller scale black/white guide image. Also found in the box was a September 7th 1937 dated Times newspaper article promoting the ship T.S.S. Strathmore, launched on 4th April 1935 by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, the then Duchess of York. This page is thought likely to be commensurate with the origins of the puzzle.
