Bildajig

Bildajigs were superb quality toys, manufactured in Scotland by Scottish Toys Ltd of Glasgow in the 1930's.

Perhaps an inspiration for these, alongside the River Clyde and Glasgow's long association with ship-building, may have been sight of a similarly designed, albeit much simpler, model produced by London's "Emell Toy Manufacturing Company", who advertised their H.M.S. Jigsaw puzzle in a 1920s edition of the trade magazine "Games and Toys".

The Bildajig range was small, featuring just three sizes of model, although there were some alternative colours available. They are extremely rare, and highly prized.
