Four Horses and Lions

This jigsaw was created by Heather Prydderch of Puzzlewood for me in late 2015. It is a hand-painted lacy design, a commission for a larger version of one of her own designs adapted from a Celtic brooch. Heather mirrored the design unit four times, creating many more dropout areas. It is painted in four colours with gold highlights, and the colourway of the two beasts have been rotated in each quadrant.

Heather's site has an image of a smaller 112pc jigsaw which she had created in the same four colours with lots of dropout areas. I'd been looking at it for some time but really wanted something bigger and more difficult so I asked if she'd make a second reflected one in complementary colours so I could mix the two together. Heather produced this single jigsaw (no555) with four lion-horse motifs, with 327pc and measuring 14.4 x 8.75in.
